India and Pakistan being the biggest cricket rivalry, Sachin Tendulkar and Inzamam Ul Haq were always on the other side of the fence and were fierce competitors. However, a quote by Sachin is making rounds on the internet which claims that Inzamam’s son is Master Blaster’s fan.
New Delhi: India vs Pakistan is the biggest cricketing rivalry, even bigger than the Ashes. Due to turmoiled political relations between the two nations, the contest on the field becomes a charged up contest. Both the teams over the years have seen some great players battling it out with the bat and the ball. However, amidst all the ‘ bad blood’ rivalry, there have been some heartwarming gestures by the players as well which shows that despite differences there is a mutual admiration as well.
Sachin Tendulkar an absolute batting icon Inzamam Ul Haq one of the legendary batsman from Pakistan in their prime were seen scoring runs against each other. While Sachin amassed over 18,000 runs in the ODI format with 49 ODI hundreds during his career, Inzamam scored over 11,000 runs with 10 hundred to his name. Both the batsmen were crucial during their tenure and were a fierce competitor as well.
Between all this a story has been brewing quoting Tendulkar from What The Duck YouTube show where Inzamam’s gesture won master blaster’s heart. He is quoted as saying, “We had a practice session in Lahore & before we began Inzamam brought his son to me and said ‘He’s a big fan and wants to meet you’. With the rivalry we had & Inzamam was Pakistan captain, to say something like this to a player from the other team takes a lot”.
While the timeline is not clear but it looks around the time when India and Pakistan were involved in bilateral series and were playing each other at their home from 2004-2006.

Inzamam Ul Haq, former Pakistan cricket team captain, retired in 2007 and currently is Chief selector of Pakistan Cricket Board. Sachin, on the other hand, retired in 2013 and is not actively part of any cricket activity but is now seen more in mentor’s role for his former IPL franchise Mumbai Indians
