Ministry of Climate Change has signed a Letter of Understanding with Alpine Club of Pakistan for Clean Green Pakistan. Prime Minister Imran Khan launched Clean Green Pakistan movement in September 2018, which aims to do a massive cleanliness and tree plantation drive across Pakistan. Secretary, Ministry of Climate Change Mr. Hasan Nasir Jamy and Mr. Abu Zafar Sadiq, President, Alpine Club of Pakistan signed the letter of understanding at a meeting at Ministry of Climate Change.
Alpine Club has a reasonable footprint in the Northern areas, and also has volunteers on-board, and they will be helping Ministry of Climate Change in creating awareness for Clean Green Pakistan Movement, organizing Clean and Green activities in the mountainous areas of Pakistan, launching Eco-Volunteer Program in support of CGPM, and Undertaking measures for protection and preservation of flora & fauna in the mountainous areas of Pakistan.
The Secretary said that “Ministry of Climate Change is looking forward to a meaningful relationship with the Alpine Club of Pakistan in the days to come.”
As the Clean Green Pakistan is one of the key initiatives of PM Imran Khan and with his focus on promoting tourism this partnership will help in spreading awareness about eco-friendly tourism especially in the northern areas of Pakistan.
