The Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan on Tuesday expressed deep grief and sorrow over the severe earthquake which caused causalities and heavy loss to infrastructure and public properties in Azad Kashmir. The AJK Prime Minister cuts short his Lahore visit and departed for Mirpur district to monitor the rescue and relief activities in the affected areas. Raja Farooq Haider Khan will himself monitor the rescue and relief efforts in the quake hit areas of the state. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister immediately issued directives to all healthcare facilities in the region to speed up the rate of rescue and relief efforts in the affected districts. He also directed to the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) and other concerned departments to accelerate rescue and relief efforts and effectively manage the emergency situation.
