Rawalakot; Sardar Masood Khan, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, has said India is committing heinous crimes against humanity which constitute war crimes. “Kashmiris are being punished for raising their voice for freedom and their inalienable right to self-determination”, he said while addressing a public gathering at Jandala in Union Council Bangoin of Rawalakot district on Wednesday.
He said despite unprecedented oppression, the people of Kashmir will never abandon their struggle for freedom and human dignity. He urged intensifying our efforts for resolving the long-standing issue of Kashmir.
President said the AJK Government is fully aware of its responsibilities and has achieved an important milestone towards good governance by introducing National Testing Service System, reforming the AJK Public Service Commission and adopting the 13th Amendment in the AJK Constitution. He said that the recent budget for development has been doubled which will play a pivotal role in the socio-economic development in the region.
“These reforms and steps will have a reaching and positive impact on the lives of the people of Azad Kashmir,” said President Masood Khan.
He thanked Sardar Ejaz Yousaf and Sardar Ashiq for inviting him to visit their home constituency and making him aware of the problems being faced by the people of Union Council Bangoin.
He said that the infrastructure of the Girls College will be upgraded and funds for the construction of a hall at the Boys High School Jandala will be made available soon. The President assured that civic amenities including water schemes and health facilities will be made available to the local populace.
President Masood Khan said that development funds of the Kashmir Council are being finalized by the Committee headed by the Finance Minister and these funds will be soon released for utilization.
Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Khan Bahadar Abdullah, former Secretary Education and PML-N AJK leader Union Council Bangoin, said that Bangoin was a backward and neglected area in terms of in health, education and infrastructure development and needs to be given urgent attention by the government. He asked the President for the up-gradation of educational institutions, reconditioning, widening and improvement of the roads in the union council, construction of greater water supply scheme to address the need of drinking water in the area.
PML- N leader Sardar Riaz Roshan expressed his profound gratitude to the President for visiting the area and personally showing his interest in resolving the issues of the people. He hoped that the President will play an important role in speedily resolving the long pending issues of the area.
Earlier on his arrival at Jandala, Constituency- IV of Rawalakot, the President was accorded a rousing welcome by a large number of local residents and the workers of Pakistan Muslim League (N).
