Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Dr.Firdous Aashiq Awan, in a meeting with H.E. Mr. Ahmed Jawad, the Ambassador of Palestine, who called on her here today, said that Pakistan would continue to support a just and lasting solution of the Palestinian issue, through dialogue and negotiations, that leads to the realization of the legitimate rights of the Palestinians, including the right of self-determination.
SAPM said that Pakistan holds its relations with the Palestinian people in high esteem as both nations share common Islamic heritage and values. She also emphasized the need to fortify cooperation with Palestine in the field of media. She said that an agreement between the State News Agencies, Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) and WAFA, which is under process, would strengthen our collaboration in the field of information and news sharing.
She highlighted the serious human rights violations by the Indian security forces in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K) and said that attempts by Narendra Modi to suppress the voice of Kashmiris would be in vain.
She said that Palestinians are a resilient nation and we salute their heroic struggle to fight against aggression.
The Ambassador commended Pakistan’s unequivocal support to the cause of Palestinian people. He emphasized the need to strengthen trade relations between Pakistan & Palestine. H.E. Mr.Ahmed Jawad also stressed engagement in the field of agriculture besides cooperation in tree plantation campaign in Pakistan, specially planting Olive trees.
