Islamabad: Ministry of Climate Change and Muslim Aid Pakistan have signed a Letter of Understanding (LOU) to collaborate for #CleanGreenPakistan Movement, an initiative launched by the Prime Minister of Pakistan in October 2018. Secretary Climate Change, Mr. Hassan Nasir Jamy and Country Director Muslim Aid Pakistan, Mr. Syed Shahnawaz signed the LOU.
Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Climate Change Mrs. Rukhsana Naveed was present at the LOU signing with Muslim Aid Pakistan and she said it is very important to involve Youth especially school and university students in the CleanGreenPakistan movement.
Under the Clean Green Pakistan Movement, Muslim Aid will start the ‘Youth-led Clean Green Innovation Challenge’ way to engage youth and seek innovative solutions to problems related to Clean Green Pakistan.
Muslim Aid with also pilot the youth volunteer program in three metropolitan cities, Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad and scale it up through Clean Green Clubs. Moreover, through this LOU, they will create awareness among university students by engaging them in various activities regarding protection of environment and emerging challenges of climate change.
Advisor to PM on Climate Change said this partnership will further strengthen PM’s Clean Green Pakistan Movement and he said it is important that all such organizations working for youth mobilization come on one platform to help the government in tacking climate change and to enable youth to come up with innovative solutions to protect our environment.
