Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan Thursday constituted a committee under the headship of Additional Chief Secretary to finalize hydel power projects planned for initiation in next five years.
He was chairing a meeting of 12th Hydel Development Fund (HDF) at CM Secretariat here Thursday. He also sought details of projects to be prepared under HDF for coming five years.
The chief minister also directed devising a plan to run completed micro hydel power stations and handing over them to local communities for operation. He also directed to complete the remaining projects within next three months.
On the occasion, the chief minister was also briefed about the details of all the ongoing micro hydel power projects in the province and progress being made on the decisions taken in previous meetings. He also directed Secretary Energy and Finance Department to liaise and complete the projects within stipulated time.
The meeting was told that all the 356 micro hydel power projects would be completed in three months phase wise. Expressing concerns over the uncompleted projects KP CM said that these projects should be completed at the earliest. He said that Energy and Power Department should convene meeting of Hydle Development Fund twice in a year and CEO PEDO ensure punishment to contractors under rules and regulations of contract.
The meeting among other was attended by Provincial Finance Minister Taimoor Saleem Jhagra, Information Minister Shaukat Yusufzai, Chief Secretary Naveed Kamran Baloach, Additional Chief Secretary Shehzad Bangash, Secretary Energy and Power and Spokesman for Provincial Government Ajmal Wazir.
Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has assured that the provision of all basic amenities including health facilities are the top priorities of the provincial government. He directed the provision of resources for the purpose and no hurdle in the provision of better medical facilities.
He gave this assurance during a meeting regarding health here in Chief Minister’s Secretariat Thursday. The chief minister also held a special meeting with Provincial Health Minister Hisham Inamullah Khan and Nowsherwan Burki and discussed important matters relating to health.
The chief minister directed the minister for provision of all possible resources for the speedy resolution of all health sector problems and added that Prime Minister Imran Khan has also committed the provision of funds for the agriculture sector.
Mahmood Khan further assured that the provincial government is working in health sector on priority basis and they are determined for the provision of health facilities to the people.
The chief minister said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has special concentration on health sector, saying they are working in this regard permanently. Regarding the management, he said the provincial government has fully supported the Ministry of Health and will also extend further support as the provision of health facilities to the people is the top priority of the PTI government.
During the meeting the chief minister told that after meeting with Prime Minister, ECNEC has approved the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, which is welcoming. He appreciated the services and performance of the minister in health sector and said that the provincial government is making all-out efforts for the provision of all health facilities to the people. He further directed the utilization of all available resources for the resolution of all problems and provision of speedy relief to the people.
