Peshawar, A meeting regarding law and order in the province was held here on Wednesday with Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan in the chair. Federal Minister for Interior Shaikh Rashid Ahmad also attended the meeting. Other participants of the meeting included Federal Secretary for Interior, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Inspector General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Secretary Home Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other relevant high ups. The meeting took stock of the overall law and order situation in the province including the newly merged districts. The participants of the meeting were apprised of the steps being taken by the provincial government to maintain law and order across the province. The meeting expressed its satisfaction on the overall situation of and order in the province and discussed various steps to maintain the situation and further improve it. The Chief Minister termed law and order as top most priority and responsibility of his government and said that the provincial government was utilizing all the available resources to this end. Federal Minister Shaikh Rasheed while lauding the efforts of provincial government to maintain law and order in the province has assured all out support of the federal government in this regard. It was agreed to have a close coordination amongst the relevant entities of federal and provincial governments to further improve law and order situation in the province. The meeting lauded the role of security forces, police and other law enforcing agencies to restore and maintain law and order in the province.
