Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has said that the tribal would have a bright future after the merger.
The tribal offered sacrifices for the creation of Pakistan and thereafter safeguarded and protected the frontiers of the country against all inimical elements. The merger is a historic event and his government would provide everything to mainstream the tribal. The government would make decisions in the light of traditions of the tribal. It would protect the jirga system and the vacuum created by the winding of FCR would be filled by the in vogue laws of the country. We have multiple challenges after the merger but we have the wherewithal to overcome them. The sacrifices of Pak Army, FC, Police, levies and other security forces fully backed by the masses brought peace and now we have to put our share for the durability of peace. He announced Shuhda package for the levies on the pattern of police Shuhda package.
He was addressing the levies passing out parade, elite of the tribal and attending different briefings during his day long visit to Bajur and Shahkus Bara. MNA Gul Zafar, Provincial government spokesman Ajmal Khan Wazir, Inspector General FC North Major General Rahat Naseem Ahmad Khan, Commissioner Malakand, officers of Bajur district administration, Sector Commander North, Army officers, Tribal elders, Levies Jawan and other prominent figures attended the functions.
Addressing the occasions, the Chief Minister stressed for more efforts for the durability of peace in future as well adding that it was historic event for him to visit Bajur and Bara Shahkas of Khyber district to interact with the people, listen to their problems and find out a solution to them. He said that next time when he would visit these areas, he would have resolved all of their problems. He said that the tribal had a history of sacrifices for the creation of Pakistan and thereafter protecting the geographical and ideological frontiers of the country. In the process, they offered everything and what they offered during the war against terrorism has become a golden chapter of history when they backed the security forces and ensured safeguarding every inch of land of the motherland. The nation as a whole is proud of them.
Mahmood Khan told the gathering about the comprehensive developmental plan for the overall development and mainstreaming of newly merged districts. He had yesterday directed all his ministers to visit the new districts and he would give a final schedule of their visits. He had already held meeting with the Prime Minister Imran Khan and told the audience about the keenness of the Prime Minister in the rapid mainstreaming of new districts. The prime Minister had directed him for visits of the new districts in order to personally observe the people grievances of the erstwhile FATA. His government in the initial 100 days plan had recommended different steps that would bring about positive impact on the collective and individual life of the people of the new districts. He said health and education were some areas where steps would be taken on emergency basis, the Sehat Insaf Card would be extended to the new districts, almost all departments have been extended to new districts adding that the vacuum created by the elimination of FCR would be filled by the country’s laws. He said that despite the abolition of Article 247 of the constitution, there would be no taxes for FATA and PATA for next five years. His government would fulfill all the promises made with the tribal adding that elections of local bodies and provincial assembly would be conducted soon in the new districts. They would have representation in the local body system and the provincial assembly. He assured to resolve all the problems of the new districts. The federal government has pledged hundred billions for uplifting of new districts which would be spent on the welfare and development of the people of the erstwhile FATA. The ongoing schemes in the new districts would continue and new one would be initiated, he assured.
Later Spokesman of the provincial government Ajmal Khan Wazir addressed these functions and added that the tribal would see a new era of development. The tribal offered tremendous sacrifices for the protection of the country and their traditions. Especially the tribal was the front liners in the war against terrorism. The government would provide jobs to the youth and safeguard their future. He said that under the sagacious leadership of Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, tribal would have a futuristic plan for their mainstreaming, protection and guaranteeing their rights and getting easy and accessible justice.
