Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has directed for strict administrative and security measures during Muharamul Haram adding for constant and enhanced level of coordination among the administrative outfits and police at all tiers of governance with special focus on sensitive districts and areas of the province.
This he stated in separate meetings with the Chief Secretary Naveed Kamran Baloch and Inspector General of Police Salahuddin Mehsood at Chief Minister House Peshawar. Chief Minister was briefed about the administrative measures and the deployment of police personnel for enhanced security in the sensitive districts and areas of the province.
Chief Minister directed to monitor the activities and movements of suspected elements in order to avert any untoward incident in the sensitive month of Muharram. We cannot ignore the movements and activities of saboteurs and criminals who might disturb the peace of the people. Security and protection to citizens and their properties is the prime responsibilities and therefore we would have to be sensitive taking preemptive measures. Steps at administrative level and police at all tiers should be taken, he directed.
Mahmood Khan directed for closer coordination between the administration and police both for security reasons and administrative concerns. His government will stand committed to the protection of lives and property of the people through efficient security and administrative measures adding good governance should be visible giving relief to the people belonging to all walks of life.
Chief Minister was briefed about the administrative and security measures taken by the provincial administration and the police in the province for the peaceful holding of processions and other rituals in Muharram. He was also informed about the extra ordinary steps by both the administration and police.
Chief Minister was also informed about the coordination with communities at district level, emergency plan, the health related measures, the aerial surveillance of sensitive districts and areas, the installation of CCTV cameras and the instructions issued to the divisional, districts and tehsil administration for foolproof security arrangements.
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has assured the strengthening of local government system in the province adding that the weaknesses in the system would be removed in order to make it responsive to the resolution of people’s problems at local level.
He was holding a meeting with Senior Minister Muhammad Atif Khan and Shehram Tarakai at Chief Minister House Peshawar. The meeting focused on strengthening the local government system in order to give relief to the people. The meeting also focused on the youth related problems and provision of facilities, encouraging tourism and creating jobs at mass scale for the jobless youth. It also discussed the sports and other recreational facilities for the youth throughout the province. The meeting took a number of steps for strengthening the local governance system for efficient delivery at local level. It also decided promotion of tourism, creation of self employment scheme for the educated youth and other sports and recreational facilities throughout the province.
Chief Minister held out assurance that his government would strengthen the local governance structure making it people friendly. He said that the developmental process would be streamlined and the governance related issues would be resolved in order to strengthen the local governance structure at the lowest tiers where the people have problems and those problems needed to be resolved at local level. He said his government would find out ways and means to give relief to the poor and youth as early as possible.
Mahmood Khan assured that tourism would be developed on modern lines in the province making it the backbone of provincial economy. His government would initiate generating self employment schemes for the youth. Simultaneously the government would not go out of focus for the initial work related to the welfare of the youth that included the creation of sporting and recreational facilities throughout the province.
