IN the history of Balochistan saw the emergence of a new era of modernity, style and architecture with the inaugurations of DHA Quetta Main Office located along Airport Road and the towering ‘DHA Quetta Monument’ built right at the site of Grand Entrance to DHA Quetta Smart City, Phase I. This day also marked the onset of development works at the entrance to DHA Quetta Smart City, Phase I on RCD Highway.
The Inauguration Plaques were unveiled by General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military), Chief of Army Staff alongwith Justice (Retired) Amanullah Khan Yasinzai, Governor Balochistan and Mr Jam Kamal Khan, Chief Minister Balochistan. Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa, Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military), Tamgha-e-Basalat, Commander Southern Command, Brig Mohammad Javed Iqbal Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) Admanistretor DHA Quetta and Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military), The Adjutant General at General Headquarters Rawalpindi were also present on the occasion. The ceremony was attended by a large gathering of senior civil and military officials. The proceedings were witnessed by a select gathering of distinguished people from different walks of life in Quetta.
COAS and other guests of honour were briefed on different aspects of Town Planning of DHA Quetta Smart City Phase I. The COAS appreciated the manner in which the whole event was organized and specially praised the quality of construction and modern layout of DHA Quetta Main Office. He expressed his satisfaction over the speed with which the project was progressing towards its final stage. While addressing staff members of DHA Quetta and other people, he appreciated the concept evolved for town planning of DHA Quetta and expressed his desire for speedy commencement of development works. He underlined the significance of efforts needed to generate and improve the economic activity in the country. He hoped that DHA Quetta would create numerous opportunities of employment growth and bolster positive and attractive business environment in Quetta.
