When Covid-19 spread around the world, healthcare systems were overwhelmed. This put women at greater risk since reproductive health services were hard to access. Many women could not access post abortion care. The community based service providers of Greenstar Social Marketing worked hand in hand with the government to ensure access to services. The need for digital connections was felt by Greenstar and 200 service providers have been enabled today to access training, data management, and remote support.
Since its inception, Greenstar is serving the suppressed communities in Pakistan to improve the sexual and reproductive health of people in the country by increasing choices and access to quality modern family planning methods and contraceptives. Under this initiative, Greenstar Social Marketing digitizes the health solutions through data driven approach. Through these devices, Greenstar empowers its providers with technology for better and effective use of data which facilitates national data records, eventually, provision of better health services to the underserved.

The advanced technology equipped POOCHO with a Primary Rate ISDN (PRI) system which provided 30-telehphone lines connected to our Toll-free number 0800-11171. The philosophy behind POOCHO is encouraging people to discuss their family planning needs in a comfortable environment where they don’t feel shy to talk about their personal life. POOCHO is a place, where people will be confident that they will get accurate and comprehensive family planning information and counseling services. Since, POOCHO Helpline is now well positioned in the community as a reliable source of FP information, Greenstar is therefore, expanding the scope of POOCHO services to include adolescent and youth SRH and offer it as a package to the community, A ONE STOP SOLUTION! It endeavors to promote POOCHO Helpline as a representative of not only Greenstar but of a consortium of organizations working on FP and SRH in the country.
