He said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) then president Nawaz Sharif went in exile after signing a deal with former president Pervez Musharraf and before returning to Pakistan had signed another agreement of giving indemnity to General Musharraf. He said that former President Asif Ali Zardari neither had reached any agreement with General ® Pervez Musharraf nor had ever wanted General ® Musharraf escape the justice. He said that he challenges and is the witness that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had rejected the draft of NRO at first sight and there is no truth in the news that PPP had any NRO with General ® Pervez Musharraf.
While addressing a press conference outside Parliament House today on Thursday Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Interior Senator A. Rehman Malik said that Nawaz Sharrif before returning to Pakistan after exile had reached a compromise with General ® Musharraf through Saudi government as guaranteed about indemnity to General ® Pervez Musharraf. He said that Asif Ali Zardari had nothing to do with bargaining between Nawaz Sharrif and General ® Musharraf as claimed falsely by Mian Muhammad Nawaz SHarrif. “Actually, indemnity to General ® Musharraf was part of the bargaining between both Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharrif and General Pervez Musharraf on the behest of Saudi government as guaranteed”, said Rehman Malik.
He said that General ® Pervez Musharraf name was not placed on Exit Control List (ECL) in the era of PPP led government so was he free to flee away the country but despite of his name on ECL, Nawaz Sharrif as Prime Minister of Pakistan allowed him to leave the country as per the NRO signed between both the parties. He said that Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz had reached Pakistan to stop Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharrif from breaching the agreement he had made about the indemnity of General ® Pervez Musharraf.
He said that senior members of PMLN had taken oath as Ministers in PPP and PMLN coalition government from General ® Pervez Musharraf was an endorsement of his indemnity. He said during the PPP led government General ® Musharaf was nominated in Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto case by the court, had if nominated, their government would have never allowed to leave the country.
Senator A. Rehman Malik further said that he is the witness of the occasion when Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto refused to return Pakistan without allowing Nawaz Sharrif to return Pakistan; actually Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had brought him to Pakistan. General ® Pervez Musharraf did not want Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharrif to return Pakistan, he said.
“By blaming Asif Ali Zardari for his own political mistakes and giving indemnity to General ® Pervez Msuharraf, Nawaz Sharrif wants to vindicate himself’, he added. He said blaming Asif Ali Zardari is mere a political statement of Nawaz Sharrif who is actually surrounded by multiple crisis currently in the courts of law.
Senator A. Rehman Malik said that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had convinced Nawaz Sharrif to take part in General Election 2008 while he was fearing the breaching of his agreement with General ® Pervez Musharraf which he had made in the guarantee of kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He said inside his chest lot of secrets are buried and he will be opening before the nation on suitable time.
