Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi telephoned State Councilor and Foreign Minister Mr. Wang Yi regarding the terrorist attack against the Chinese Consulate in Karachi, today. He apprised the State Councilor of the details of the attack and highlighted the prompt action of Pakistani law enforcement officials. He also informed him about the martyrdom of 2 security officials that helped in a quick resolution of the crisis.
He assured the State Councilor that a thorough investigation will be carried out to apprehend the perpetrators their financiers, planners and facilitators.
Pakistan is fully committed to taking all necessary measures to provide robust security to all Chinese nationals in Pakistan. The two countries will continue to cooperate to thwart the designs of hostile forces against their times tested friendship.
Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, strongly condemned the terrorist attack against Chinese Consulate in Karachi. He appreciated the quick, prompt and effective action of Pakistan security and Law Enforcement Forces who sacrificed their lives to protect the Chinese Consulate. Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that the terrorist attack was an attempt to impact Pakistan China relations and to harm CPEC. He stressed that Pakistan-China brotherhood was clad in iron and such cowardly attacks could not affect it.
The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan strongly condemns the terrorist attack against the Chinese Consulate-General in Karachi on November 23. Now the situation has been brought under control and three terrorists have been killed. There is no Chinese citizens killed or injured in the attack.
We appreciate the Pakistani Army and Police for their timely and proper action against the attack. We extend our deep condolences to the two Pakistani policemen martyred in the attack. We believe that the Pakistani side is able to ensure the safety of Chinese institutions and personnel in Pakistan. Any attempt to undermine China-Pakistan relationship is doomed to fail.
