Caretaker Chief Minister former Justice Dost Muhammad Khan directed (Peshawar Development Authority) PDA to allot 150 Kanal of land in Regi Model Town for the establishment of Judicial Academy. He said that after the merger of seven districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the importance of the judicial academy got more prominent. He said that if we failed to provide effective and efficient judicial system to the merged districts then it will create a vacuum which can be again exploited by the non state actors. He said that it is the need of the hour to establish a judicial academy where judges, para legal staff, magistrates and public prosecutors will be trained on modern lines for the province in general and new merged districts in particular.
He expressed this view while chairing a meeting of Board of Peshawar Development Authority at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar. Minister for Finance Abdur Rauf Khan Khattak, Minister for Information Zafar Iqbal Bangash, Secretary local government, Finance & P&D and DG PDA and other relevant officers also attended the meeting.
Former Justice Dost Muhammad Khan said that we have to appoint round about 75 new judges, 45 magistrates and other para legal staff for the new merged districts who will be needed proper training. For this very purpose we have to expedite work on the requisition of 150 Kanal of land and then construction work. He added that he has designed this academy in view of the coming 25 years requirements of legal practice. Hence we need 200 kanal areas for the construction of overall judicial complex, training halls, administration block, digital library, FM Radio stations, separate hostels for Male and Female and other rooms for staff and officers of the academy etc. He stressed on high ups of PDA to remove all the hurdles in the way of this project of national interest. A detailed deliberation and discussion was done on the request of widow of farmer Police Officer Abid Ali Shaheed regarding exchange of her plot. DG PDA told the meeting that currently they have no plot in Hayatabad to be allotted to the applicant. The Chief Minister directed that she may be allotted a plot (apartment in one of the three residential schemes of housing department Jalozai, Warsak road or High Raising Hayatabad if covered under the law. He directed that allotment of any plot in any residential township or high rising flats should be strictly made on merit through a transparent mechanism and that should be in total conformity with the law adding that it will eradicate legal complications and would meet out all the pre-requisites of justice and law in vogue.
Caretaker Chief Minister former Justice Dost Muhammad Khan has eulogized the unprecedented sacrifices of police force of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Adding they laid down their lives for the cause of the people and the cause of the country. Their sacrifices for the security of lives and property of people will long be remembered, he added.
In a message on Youm-e-Shuhada August 4, the Caretaker Chief Minister said that the police rewrote a new chapter of sacrifices showing their bravery for safeguarding the lives and properties of the people and maintaining peace in the province that left an unprecedented sign of dedication and devotion in the discharge of their responsibilities to the cause of the nation and the country. The police, he added, had to perform and discharge their duties against the heavy odds proving their bravery and patriotism against an invisible enemy.
Mr. Dost Muhammad Khan said that the police force battled a war against terrorism and enemy of the country. They sacrificed their lives for peace in the region which will be written in the history with the golden words. He offered Fateha for keeping the soul of the martyred soldiers in peace and heaven. Rest assured, we would never go waste the sacrifices offered by our police force, he added.
Caretaker Chief Minister former Justice Dost Muhammad Khan has taken notice of the Gastro related epidemic in Abbottabad. He directed the quarter concerned to dig out the causes of the disease and ensure efficient healthcare to the affectees. He also directed for ensuring the hygienic food items in the area and take steps for the speedy recovery of affectees.
Meanwhile, the Caretaker Chief Minister Dost Muhammad Khan condemned the setting on fire of educational institutions in Chilas. In a message, he termed the saboteurs act a crime against the society and added that the anti state elements can never succeed in obstructing the process and promotion of education in the country.
Earlier, the Caretaker Chief Minister former Justice Dost Muhammad Khan has directed for accelerated steps against the spread of dengue larva in Peshawar. He directed to cover pitches on the route of bus rapid transit Peshawar. The concerned officials should ensure using chemical in carrying out sprays in the affected spots to eliminate dengue larva. He also directed for the awareness campaign against the dengue and its spread.
