Diaspora community playing a dynamic role in highlighting Kashmir issue: Masood Khan .

Sardar Masood Khan, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, has said that the Pakistani-Kashmiri diaspora community is creating critical awareness on the Kashmir conflict. They, he said, are actively participating in local politics with strong conviction and helping sensitise their respective parliamentarians to this long-standing issue.

He expressed his views while talking to a delegation who called on him here at Jammu and Kashmir House. The delegation comprised Mr. Naeem Chaudhry, Chairman All Parties Jammu and Kashmir Forum, France and General Secretary Pakistan Muslim League (N) Europe; Rana Mahmood, Member All Parties Jammu and Kashmir Forum, France and Chaudhry Hafeez.

The President said while addressing the delegation to strengthen relationships with parliamentarians and urge them to break their silence on the Kashmir issue. He also urged them to create awareness about the grave human rights situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir by interacting with prominent civil rights activists, the business community and human right organisations.

Informing them of the recently released report by the United Nations Human Rights Organization, the President urged them to share this very important document with the French parliamentarians. This report, he said, comprehensively lists massive human rights violations occurring in IOK; including countless instances of sexual violence, arbitrary arrests, political restrictions, mass graves, use of pellet guns and the immunity from prosecution enjoyed by the Indian forces under the Public Safety Act and the Armed Forces Special Powers Act.

President Masood Khan has said that India propagates on the diplomatic front that Kashmir is part of India and that is merely a bilateral issue between Pakistan and India. “This Indian propaganda needs to be negated”, he said. Kashmir, he said, demands a permanent solution as given under the UN Security Resolutions.

President Masood Khan appreciated the services rendered by All Parties Jammu and Kashmir Forum in uniting the diaspora community in creating awareness on Kashmir.

Mr. Naeem Chaudhary informed the President that All Parties Jammu and Kashmir Forum is striving in uniting all Pakistan based political parties in France in highlighting the Kashmir issue.

President Masood Khan informed the delegation that he has participated in Kashmir-related programs in many countries including Germany, Belgium, Holland, Sweden, Britain, Canada, and found the diaspora community very dynamic and actively working for the Kashmir issue.
