Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (R) Dost Muhammad Khan has said his Caretaker setup is all out for the peaceful, transparent, free and fair election in the province.


He was talking to a delegation of senior lawyers of Peshawar High Court at his office in Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar. He said that provincial caretaker government would utilize all resources to facilitate transparent and fair elections and simultaneously the Caretaker setup would prove its neutrality in the whole election process.
He said that caretaker setup has formed a committee to establish a new department for the newly merged districts of the erstwhile FATA into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The people of merged districts had suffered and the infrastructure of newly merged districts collapsed even the entire public sector institutions affected by the conflict. His government planned, a short term, midterm and long term planning for the overall recovery that included provision of immediate relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction. He said that the quota of the new districts would be maintained and new posts and jobs would be created for the youth of newly merged districts.
He reminded the lawyers of the government efforts for the provision of life saving drugs in the tertiary healthcare centers. He further reminded that he had declared certain institutions free from load-shedding that included the hospitals, the courts, the jails and other sensitive institutions responsible for the basic services. He said that justice should be done to everyone. Both the judges and the lawyers should work harder for the supremacy of law as justice is one of the pre requisites of justice. He would leave behind a roadmap for the coming government in order to give maximum relief to the people, he added.
Earlier, a representative delegation of District Bar Association Peshawar today called on Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (R) Dost Muhammad Khan at his office in Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar.
The delegation informed the Caretaker Chief Minister about the problems and demands of the lawyers. Caretaker Provincial Minister Anwar ul Haq and Asadullah Chamkani were also present on the occasion. Justice (R) Dost Muhammad assured the delegation to resolve their issues under the laid down procedure and law of the land. He said that lawyers had a prominent role in the entire judicial system, the justice dispensation process and the community is a major stakeholder in the overall improvement in the governance system. He appreciated the cooperation of the lawyers and judges in the provision of speedy justice to the people. The delegation congratulated Justice (R) Dost Muhammad Khan on his new responsibilities as a Caretaker Chief Minister of the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Meanwhile KP Bar Council Peshawar delegation also met the Caretaker Chief Minister and exchanged views on the governance related issues with special reference to the problems of the lawyer community. The delegation informed the Caretaker Chief Minister of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council of the collective problems of the association. The Chief Minister assured to resolve their issues on priority basis. He said that Bar Council being the supreme body of provincial bar association, had a number of important responsibilities to shoulder. The Bar Association should be a party to the speedy dispensation of justice reducing the problems of the hapless people. He praised the role of Bar Council for the provision of justice to the people and hoped that Bar Council and the Association system will continue to demonstrate the same kind of energies in the improvement of the justice dispensation process.
